There is just no stopping Jeev Milkha Singh these days and I'm sure if there were 53 tournaments a year he'd want to play in them all. Jeev has an insatiable appetite for the game and he is currently getting everything he deserves from it - victory in last weekend's Nagashima Shigeo Invitational in Japan the latest addition to a very impressive CV. The Indian is a perfect example and role model to all the youngsters he has helped bring to the game in the sub continent and the more he wins, the more he will attract.

I'm pleased to report that we have been doing a bit of attracting ourselves recently and I am delighted to tell you that Chris Wood, who performed so wonderfully at The Open, has agreed to join us. Chris came within a whisker of qualifying for next year's Masters with his amateur heroics at Royal Birkdale, but I am sure there will be plenty of trips down Magnolia Lane in the future. The Bristolian is a very level-headed young man, who has obviously been brought up the right way and I am sure he and the likes of Rory McIlroy from the young end of the stable will develop a strong and healthy rivalry similar to that enjoyed by two of our more senior members, Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke. Chris already knows what standards he will have to achieve having played with Darren at Wentworth last week in a company day.  Darren shot eight under.

Many of our players have headed to Akron, Ohio, this week for the WGC Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone.   I'll be following events with interest and hopefully we'll have more success to report next week
