David played his final event of 2009 in the UBS Hong Kong Open at Fanling Golf Club and shot rounds of 69 66 67 and 69 which left him on nine under par and in a tie for 18th position.  France's Gregory Bourdy took the title with a nineteen under par total.

David finished in 156th place in the inaugural Race To Dubai with earnings of €141,490.
