David played in the Madrid Masters over the par 72 Real Sociedad Hipica Espanola Club de Campo. He shot rounds of 72 and 73 which gave him a 145 total of one over par which missed the halfway cut that fell at one under par.

England's Luke Donald won the title with the score of twenty one under par.
